Day 14 dives in a little deeper by providing a rough pattern of adoration, confession, thanksgiving, supplication; also known as ACTS of prayer. I thought I would do something different and provide an example of a typical ACTS prayer I will do sometime during the day.
ADORATION – Dear Father, I will exalt you. I will praise your name because you are worthy, holy, and so great! (Psalm 145) There is no one else like you. You’re beautiful, excellent, and good in every way. Justice and righteousness are the foundation of your throne and you reign for ever. (Psalm 89:14)
CONFESSION– Father, forgive me of any sin or disobedience I have done. Cleanse me and wash over me with your son’s blood. Show me any hidden thing that needs to be exposed. Please give me grace and mercy to overcome and to not be in condemnation over any wrong.
THANKSGIVING– (Probably one of my favorite times of prayer because giving thanks and thinking about all God has already done takes me right back to a place of worship and praise). Father, thank you for health, life, strength, and peace of mind. Thank you for my family, friends, and allowing me to love and be loved. Thank you for making everything work together for my good.
SUPPLICATION – Finally, I turn to specific requests I have for myself and those that I love. A lot of times I will pray for people who are heavy on my heart and just pray that God will meet their needs in every way. I pray for you friend that is reading this blog. My prayer is that whatever your need is, God will meet it and wow you with even abundantly more (Ephesians 3:20).
